The Charlotte Hornets have become a North Carolina staple. After many years of absence, the state has truly embraced the return of the “Buzz City”. The Team is now owned by NBA All Star, Michael Jordan.
The Hornets are bringing their contagious inspiration to the Triad! Greensboro is now home to the The Swarm. The Swarm is an NBA D-League (developmental team) affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets and will be the team’s 20th franchise! To celebrate the new addition, the Hornets will be playing a preseason game here in Greensboro against the Boston Celtics on October 6th.
Recently, the Charlotte Hornets General Manager Rich Cho announced, Noel Gillespie has been named head coach of The Swarm. Gillespie has had more than 14 years of NBA experience, including the last six years as a full-time assistant coach for the Denver Nuggets!
The Swarm’s inaugural season will begin this November at the newly renovated fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. The team will play their 24 home games here. The Complex seats 2,118 fans and The Swarm is offering nine different price points for tickets, including season tickets!
Much like the popular Hornets Season ticket packages, Swarm season ticket holders will also receive exclusive benefits such as team autograph sessions, priority for Hornets and Swarm single-game and playoff tickets, discounts on Hornets and Swarm merchandise and much more.
Come out and support your Greensboro Swarm in their inaugural 2016-2017 season!
