This week’s place to visit is Sliding Rock, North Carolina. This is one of North Carolina’s most famous thrills. This sixty-foot rock water slide is for all the adrenaline junkies. With 11 thousand gallons of water sliding over the rock every minute, you are guaranteed to have a heart-racing, unforgettable first ride.

Our NC Summer brings large crowds to this fun spot for all the tourists to take the plunge into this 7 foot drop!

For all the parents out there you will be happy you know there is always a lifeguard on duty from memorial day to labor and day pass admission is only $1! You can also buy a season pass for only $25!

Directions: From the intersection of NC 280 / US64 / US276 near Brevard, drive north on US276 for 7.5 miles and turn left into the parking area and up to the booth where you pay. You’ll see a ‘US Fee Area’ sign before the turn – there’s also a sign before the turn if you are coming south on 276 from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Lunch Options: If you are up to sit and eat with nature , a picnic is always nice in the summer, just make sure to pack lots of water! If you would like to stop and eat before or after your fun, click here and we have provided a list of restaurants close by!
